Digital Forensics Graduate
Champlain College

Hi, I'm Emma.

I am currently the Assessor for the Town of Lebanon, Connecticut and recently graduated from Champlain College in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations. I am eager to transition into the field of digital forensics and cybersecurity, leveraging my 14 years of experience in government administration and my education, volunteer experiences and interpersonal skills. I am detail-oriented and possess an investigative mindset, always seeking opportunities for continuous learning and improvement.

As a student, I gained hands-on experience with various digital forensic and cybersecurity tools, such as Magnet AXIOM, Cellebrite, X-Ways, Volatility, Autopsy, and FTK Imager. I also had the opportunity to apply my knowledge through forensic imaging and extractions, side projects in my home lab, and participation in online challenges and competitions, including CTF events, TryHackMe, and Hack The Box.

This blog serves as a platform to showcase the projects I work on outside of my day job, with the goal of deepening my understanding of the subject matter and potentially helping others along the way.

The more I learn, the less I know.

Interests

  • Sports: I competed in volleyball during my college years and continue to participate in tournaments organized by the non-profit organization Yankee Volleyball in New England. Recently, I picked up pickleball and now play regularly with a friendly group of community members. In my free time, I also enjoy hiking with my dogs and biking on local trails.

  • Photography: I developed a passion for photography a few years ago when I received my first DSLR camera as a Christmas gift. Once I mastered manual mode, I was hooked. I currently shoot with a full-frame Canon Mark III, and my go-to lens is my 150-600mm. My favorite subjects to photograph include wildlife, nature, and dogs. Feel free to take a look at some of my photos here.

  • Other: Coffee. Painting. Music - I'm a Spotify junkie, always on the hunt for new music and curating the perfect playlists.

🤝 Volunteer Experience

Private Investigations for the Missing seeks to, at no cost, fill that need by providing families with qualified, expert investigators to work on their loved one's case and hopefully locate or bring some form of closure for them.
